Abby Quirk is a policy analyst for K-12 Education at American Progress. Prior to this role, she worked as a research coordinator at the University of Pennsylvania studying the psychology of self-control and motivation in high school students. In addition, Quirk helped to connect innovative schools with leading scientists through the Character Lab Research Network. She previously completed a junior fellowship with the National Center for Education Statistics and American Institutes for Research.

Quirk received her bachelor’s degree in psychology with minors in education and religious studies from Hamilton College, and also holds a master’s degree in education policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
