Associate Director/Director, Racial Equity and Justice

American Progress is seeking an Associate Director or Director for Racial Equity and Justice. The Associate Director/Director will help lead American Progress’ efforts to develop, communicate, and implement policy ideas that provide a new way forward for a range of equity challenges in an increasingly diverse America, with a particular focus on race and equity. They will help coordinate policy analysis and substantial research and writing for the team while also working regularly on relevant ideas and issues with other American Progress teams. The Associate Director/Director will also help build relationships with outside stakeholders, including allied organizations, policymakers, and the media.

Associate Director/Director, Women’s Health and Rights, Women’s Initiative

American Progress has an immediate opening for an Associate Director/Director of the Women’s Health and Rights program with the Women’s Initiative, which is part of the American Progress Inclusive Growth Department. The Women’s Health and Rights program advocates to advance policies that provide people with the ability to become a parent and to parent with dignity; to determine whether, when, and with whom to have children; to have a healthy pregnancy; and to have safe and healthy families and relationships. The team works in an interdisciplinary way to advance policies on a range of health issues that affect women and families, particularly through collaborations with other American Progress teams focused on the rights of LGBTQ people, people of color, people with low incomes, people with disabilities, and those working on other health policies.

Broadcast Media Manager

Broadcast Media Manager

American Progress has an immediate opening for a Broadcast Media Manager. This position involves leading the organization’s radio and podcast strategy, including pitching, booking, and preparing staff for interviews on radio and podcasts. The Broadcast Media Manager will also serve as the lead producer of the Center for American Progress Action Fund’s podcast, “The Tent.” They will lead production meetings, edit and produce a new episode every week, oversee the podcast’s booking producer in securing guests, help prepare the host for interviews, brainstorm and execute ideas around promotion in conjunction with the podcast’s digital producer, and coordinate with other members of the Press team on overall production of the podcast. Additionally, the Broadcast Media Manager will oversee the use and management of American Progress’ radio studio.
