Allie Aguilera is the managing director of Global Progress at American Progress. For nearly 15 years, Aguilera has been a leader across government, campaigns, and nonprofit organizations.

Most recently, as a political appointee at the U.S. Department of Education, Aguilera led various teams and initiatives to advance the president’s education priorities from pre-K through higher education and to meet congressional mandates. During President Barack Obama’s second term, Aguilera served at the U.S. Department of Transportation, successfully advancing significant congressional reauthorizations to ensure the department’s safety mission. During the 2020 election cycle, Aguilera served as deputy chief operating officer of Kamala Harris For The People and as a youth vote expert for various national voting organizations. She has advised a number of successful gubernatorial races in the commonwealth of Virginia. At young adult nonprofit Young Invincibles, Aguilera worked to advance health care access, higher education affordability, and workforce opportunities for young people at the state and national level.
