The coronavirus pandemic has deeply affected low-income communities and other vulnerable populations across America. As Congress and the Biden administration consider new legislation to address the crisis and direct national recovery, the Center for American Progress and GBAO Strategies surveyed 2,000 registered voters, from February 2–7, 2021, to examine their current personal and family financial situations; assess basic values and beliefs about the economy and the role of government; and measure voters’ support or opposition to a range of proposed federal policies to enhance the economic well-being of low-income people in all parts of the country.
