By Us for Us: Youth Voice in Education Policymaking

Center for American Progress
5:00 - 6:00 PM EDT

Policy changes should reflect the best interests of the communities they are serving. In education policy, it is important to shift focus to community- and youth-informed research to allow greater advocacy and support for students in and outside the school building.

Please join the Center for American Progress for a discussion about the concept of community-informed policymaking through the lens of youth leaders who are working to ensure that there are participatory forms of government and who are taking up the mantle to advocate for safe, supportive, and culturally responsive school environments.

Jamira Burley, Activist and Social Impact Strategist
