The Economic Impacts of the Affordable Care Act

A discussion and Q&A with Jason Furman

10:00 - 11:00 AM EDT

The United States recently marked the fifth anniversary of the Affordable Care Act. During the five years since the law passed, our health care system has seen considerable progress, including a dramatic expansion of health insurance coverage, historically slow growth in health care costs, and striking improvements in the quality of patient care.

Please join the Center for American Progress for remarks and discussion with Jason Furman, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, to discuss the implications of the Affordable Care Act for jobs, incomes, and the nation’s fiscal future. Furman will also discuss the Obama administration’s ongoing efforts to shift America’s health care delivery system toward payment models that reward doctors and hospitals that provide high-quality, efficient care and how these efforts will help ensure that recent progress on health care costs and quality continues.

Distinguished guest:
Jason Furman, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers

Moderator:
Neera Tanden, President of the Center for American Progress
