Trump’s Real Agenda

Ben Olinsky comments on President Donald Trump's flawed executive orders, which will inflict harm on the most vulnerable Americans.

When a new president takes office, the heady days of the campaign give way to the awesome responsibility of leading a nation and managing a large and complex federal enterprise. After months of making campaign promises, this is the time when President Donald Trump will reveal his true intentions and priorities for the next four years.

Less than one month into his term, Trump has given us that clearer view by issuing roughly 20 executive orders and related actions. Taken together, these orders demonstrate an appetite for quick, grandiose actions and splashy press conferences, but also sloppy work, a lack of discipline and little interest in the details required for successfully achieving lasting change.
