The Center for American Progress, American Women, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and Services Employee International Union Launch Fair Shot: A Plan for Women and Families to Get Ahead
Washington, D.C. – On September 18, the Center for American Progress, working with American Women, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and Service Employees International Union, will launch a major new initiative, “Fair Shot: A Plan for Women and Families to Get Ahead,” at an event featuring House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senior White House Advisor Valerie Jarrett. The effort will focus on elevating public policies that address the challenges women face today and ensure that families are not just getting by, but rather have the opportunity to get ahead.
Through a combination of panel discussions and keynote speeches, the event will highlight the key themes of the initiative: promoting women’s economic security, ensuring healthy families and protecting reproductive rights, and expanding women’s leadership.
